Welcome!

UNBC Outdoors Club would like to welcome you to the 2012/13 school year!

This year promises to be a great one.  We have a handful of adventures planned for the season including a trip to Jasper (see below), the OC Tabor Mountain cabin, Silver King Basin in Smithers, winter camping in a quinzhee, and a ski/snowboard trip in the new year. 

The trip to Jasper is just around the corner (this coming weekend Sept 28 - 30) so make sure you get your name on the list.  Today is the last day to sign up and fees are 35.00/person but don't miss your chance to go.  This OC weekend trip is always a blast and a great way to connect with people who share your passion for the great outdoors.  

The UNBC Outdoors Club has a cache of gear that is available for students to use.  If you would like to borrow some contact Jody at phibbs@unbc.ca but please make sure to give a one or two day "heads up".  In the past this service has been free but this year we have introduced a small fee of 5$/use in order to upgrade, fix and replace some of the equipment so that this service can be available into the future.

Inaugural UNBCOC Post!

Hi all! Welcome to the UNBC Blog and gateway to our FORUM!

We are pretty psyched to have this up and running for all of you-hopefully this is going to really enable all of us to network a bunch more and GET OUTSIDE MORE! 

The vision for this page is that we post trip reports here to let everyone know:

what you did

where you went

who you went with

conditions of the trip 

and HOW MUCH FREAKING FUN YOU HAD!

We want to know about your epic adventures! So every time you go on a trip-basically write a blog as you would like it and attach a photo or three into an email to the UNBCOC@gmail.com and you will see it up here in a day or two!

There is also going to (soon) be a link to our forum. This is IMPORTANT! Forums are a great way to connect on potential trips, plan them, talk about gear, social events......the list goes on and on. 

HOWEVER! This only happens if people USE the forum and check it REGULARLY!

Save the Blog page as a bookmark so it is super easy to get to-it's a great procrastination tool! 

Almost as good as Facebook!
